FILIPINO FILMS SCREENED IN MAINLAND USA: Coast Cinema Theatre (previously the Palm Theatre), 827 Palm Ave, Imperial Beach
Proof that Tagalog films were being screened on the beach near San Diego around 1980. I can't find any newspaper listings for specific films, but the article (from the Chula Vista Star-News, 28th Cecember 1980, p.12) suggest they were exhibited over a number of years in the late 70s and into the early 80s.
