"Holy shit my heart is heavy. This is a sad, sad day for me... I just found out my friend Franco Guerrero, star of The One-Armed Executioner and They Call Her Cleopatra Wong among many others, interviewee in my Search For Weng Weng docu and book, karaoke buddy and tour guide for every Escolta visit, passed away from lung cancer. I can't even conceive of a Manila without Franco, he was one of the toughest AND kindest people I've ever met, and was part of my filmic DNA. Here's the last photo I have of us together, after yet another yumcha lunch in one of his favourite Chinatown haunts. Francesco Liwanag, aka Chito, aka Franco "Guerrero", thank you for being my friend. My deepest condolences to his family, colleagues, his mentor Director Bobby A. Suarez's family Richard, Gene, Roberto, and his frequent co-star and longtime friend Marrie Lee xx"
