On February 2, 1904, Adela Purificacion Hermoso was born in Meycauayan, Bulacan to parents Agaton Hermoso and Victoria Llenado. Besides being a mother, she is also known as a pharmacist, entrepreneur and an ardent supporter of the Catholic faith.
She graduated from a pharmacy course at Escuela de Farmacia del Liceo de Manila which is now known as Manila Central University. Met the physician Dr. Ciriaco A. Santiago and they were married in 1934. They were blessed with three children, Cirio (1936-2008), Danilo (1938-2019) and Digna (1943-2025).
Lived on 10th Ave. in Caloocan and promoted their businesses there too. Following his profession as a pharmacist, Hermoso Drug Store was founded and managed with branches in Manila and Caloocan. Hermoso Laboratories also encouraged the production of several well-known products such as Three Sisters Face Powder, Casadel Cream, and Intrigue Cologne.
His partner also competed in the airport transportation industry, which is part of FEATI, managed by his future bullets Salvador Araneta and Victoria Lopez-Araneta.
She is also known as an avid supporter of the Shrine of Our Lady of Grace because of its activeness in parish organizations. It is said that she also gave the land on which the said church resides.
Most famous in their record is their foray in the film industry: the Premiere Productions, one of the “Big Four” of the 50s, located in Grace Park. She was one of the founders and supervisors of the said company, and continued its operation after the passing of her spouse in May 1956.
When Premiere Productions temporarily closed in the 50s, People's Pictures was founded and promoted by her family. The establishment of the two film companies has borne the popularity of big artists in Caloocan, especially in Grace Park.
She passed away on October 25, 1972 at the age of 68.
